JOB DEVELOPMENT PLACEMENT SERVICES

JOB DEVELOPMENT & PLACEMENT SUPPORT Matching and Pre'Screening:
NCDS Career Works may be able to recommend a candidate(s) to meet the employer’s needs. We have a pool of potential employees that we will be happy to pre'screen and refer to the employers for an interview.
Services Include:

• Facilitating apprenticeship linkages

• Establishing and monitoring placements

• Ongoing support to employers and trainees

• We do all Job Connect paperwork and may assist with apprenticeship documentation

• Research and promotion matching clients to employers

Program Eligibility Requirements:

16-24 years of age (adult exceptions available) and eligible to work in Canada
Out of school, out of training and out of work
Defined as NOT an insured participant under the EI Act and not on WSIB.

Your business may be entitled to a training incentive. The needs and
duration of his/her training plan will determine the amount you are entitled. If you are interested in this program contact our office.

Summer Jobs Service (SJS) and JDPS (Job Development & Placement Support)
Summer Jobs Service (SJS) is the summer program for students from the Ontario Ministry of Education and
Training and is available from April to September. Some of the highlights of SJS are:
• Provides employers with a $2.00 per hour wage subsidy
• Applicable to youth ages 15 - 30 years of age, who are planning to return to
school and are eligible to work in Canada
• The employment period may be up to 16 weeks
• Youth working part-time (24 hrs/wk or less) are eligible, as long as their work hours (with current or new
employer) are increased to 35 hrs/wk or more while they are in the program
• Applicants can NOT be the employer’s child, sibling or spouse
